Helmet innovation shaping the modern game | PCA & Vitality UK

Masuri and Vitality UK recently went behind the scenes with Isa Guha and The PCA at Lord's to talk about the new TrueFit 3D helmets, as well as asking some of the biggest names in cricket how next-generation head protection is helping to shape the future of the sport.

England captain Heather Knight and PCA President Eoin Morgan featured in the video as part of Vitality's Changing the Game series, giving their take as past and present players on how helmet innovation is playing a crucial role as the modern game develops.

Masuri CEO Sam Miller chatted with Isa Guha about the development process and how the roll out to professional cricketers across the UK has taken place.

"Everyone's head shape is different. So six-seven years ago we said how could we make a custom fit helmet. And at that stage we thought look we could 3D scan, 3D scanning technology was there, and about three years ago we starting looking again at 3D printing. 3D printing had now evolved to the stage where could actually start to 3D print certain materials."

"So we went from six years ago having an idea, to last year during the Ashes, the first 3D printed liners going out to Professional Cricketers."

As the English cricket season winds down for 2024, the cricket season is just beginning across Australia & New Zealand, with the TrueFit 3D-PRO being seen in the Men's and Women's programs across the Australian States teams.
